FE-6490ST 100Base-FX Fibre Optic PC Card Adapter with integral ST connectorAlloy's FE-6490ST/SC Fast Ethernet Fibre-Optic PCMCIA Card is the perfect solution for connecting laptops/Notebooks to high speed fibre-optic LANs via a 16bit PCMCIA interface. Supporting 100Mbps, in both Full and Half Duplex environments, the single piece card features an ST or SC fibre-optic port and diagnostic LED's attached directly onto the PCMCIA card body. The FE-6490 has support for a wide range of operating systems including Win XP/2000/NT/98/95/3.x, Netware and Redhat Linux 7.1 (kernel 2.4.2)
With its unique, robust, single piece design, the FE-6490ST/SC is easy to use and install. It requires no external power supply, but derives all power for the Fibre interface of the HOST system.
Ruggedised Metal Fibre connectors on models ending in "R" are Ideal for use in mobile systems that may get moved frequently, and should avoid accidental damage to the Fibre connectors.
The FE-6490 series has been supplied to military and government departments worldwide.
